German brand celebrates its Kona success with a new Hawaii-inspired Canyon Speedmax CF SLX Disc Kona limited to just 80 bikes worldwide.
Celebrating an unbroken run of five Ironman World Championship victories in Kona under both Jan Frodeno and Patrick Lange on Speedmax bikes, Canyon is making a splash about the first showing of its new generation of Speedmax bikes on the Big Island this October with this extremely limited edition offering.
The Speedmax CF SLX Disc launched in November 2020, adding to the previous generation in every department: aerodynamics, braking, storage, cockpit setup – you name it, Canyon honed it.
Since Canyon’s claims of superiority when the bike was unveiled though, the new model of the Speedmax has been ridden to a raft of victories. These include helping Jan Frodeno break the iron-distance world record at the Zwift Tri Battle Royale, where he posted a new best iron-distance bike split of 3:55:22.

So, what do you get for your £9749? Most striking is the bespoke colourway, which is inspired by the iconic aloha shirt aesthetic, a fitting design that immediately evokes the spirit of Kona with its blue base and colourful flowers motif.
This limited edition Speedmax is also specced for performance. The SRAM Force eTap ASX groupset provides wireless shifting while the Quarq spider-based power meter takes care of measuring your watts. The wheelset includes a Zipp Firecrest Disc 404 on the front and 808 on the back – a tried and tested combination in Hawaii – trapped in Continental Grand Prix 5000 tyres (25mm up front, 28mm at the back). A tri-specific Fizik Mistica saddle is designed to provide aero-tuck comfort.

The component selections are complemented by Canyon’s cockpit setup which features the brand’s Mono Extension and is shipped with a fitting kit giving virtually unlimited height, reach and grip width combinations. Meanwhile, the bike’s onboard tool storage and hydration keep things practical and maintain the frame’s clean aerodynamic lines.
