Ironman Now live race coverage on Facebook Watch returns this weekend for Ironman 70.3 St. George, the 70.3 North American Championship.
As the 2021 Ironman season gets underway in the US, so does the Ironman Now live coverage – giving fans the racing action they’ve been clamouring for after a protracted COVID-induced break.
Ironman’s live race programming couldn’t be coming back at a better time, with a stacked field set to go head-to-head at Ironman 70.3 St. George this Saturday. This pivotal event serves as the Ironman 70.3 North American Championship and is also the same course to which athletes will return on 17-18 September for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships.
Regular Ironman hosts Dede Griesbauer, Michael Lovato and Matt Lieto and will be in the commentary hot seat once again, while some races will also feature insight from eight-time Ironman world champ Paula Newby-Fraser and Aussie Kona conquerer Greg Welch.
As well as commentating on the live action as it unfolds there will be plenty of real-time polls and other audience interaction to help fans feel closer to the action.
Though never lost for words, the commentary team will have plenty to talk about this weekend at St. George as PTO world #1 Daniela Ryf goes up against the likes of Holly Lawrence, Paula Findlay and Laura Phillip. Meanwhile, Canada’s finest, Lionel Sanders, will be the man to beat with US rivals Ben Kanute, Sam Long, Rudy von Berg and Matt Hanson among a stellar field.
The Ironman Now coverage will then head to Ironman Tulsa – the Ironman North American Championship – on 23 May, where we’ll get to see how athletes’ full-distance form is faring far in advance of this year’s Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. That pinnacle event will receive a week’s worth of Ironman Now programming leading up to the Big Dance on Saturday 9 October.
More event coverage will be announced as the season progresses – don’t forget to follow the Ironman Now facebook page to stay up to date will all the action.
