British brand HUUB to play crucial role in the inaugural Collins Cup race as the official outfitter for Team Europe athletes.
As the hype around the PTO‘s flagship event – the Collins Cup – starts to build ahead of the inaugural race in Samorin this August, Team Europe’s athletes will benefit from the latest tri tech as HUUB joins the team as official outfitter.
Based in Derby, UK, HUUB’s radical approach to wetsuit design with science-led R&D courtesy of Professor Huub Toussaint saw the company skyrocket to success when it launched nine years ago. Its Archimedes suit broke new ground with thin, stretchy bicep and calf release panels to aid stroke mechanics and a fast transition as well as giving swimmers a choice of buoyancy options.
HUUB has equipped some of the world’s best triathletes including the Brownlee brothers, Henri Schoeman, Kristian Blummenfelt, Jess Learmonth, Georgia Taylor-Brown, David McNamee and Tyler Butterfield.
Through designing official uniforms for Team Europe, the HUUB team will have the chance to work with even more of the sport’s greats as both the women’s and men’s European teams are outright favourites for the event.
While qualification for the 12-strong squad won’t be complete until nearer the race, athletes currently ranked for the women’s team include Daniela Ryf, Anne Haug, Lucy Charles-Barclay and Holly Lawrence. Meanwhile, the men’s side features the likes of Jan Frodeno, Gustav Iden, Magnus Ditlev and George Goodwin – with Alistair Brownlee, Javier Gomez and Kristian Blummenfelt all in the hunt too.
HUUB was founded nearly a decade ago by Dean Jackson, who, after years of experience in the tri industry, decided to forge his own path with the dream of redesigning the triathlon wetsuit from the ground up.
“We are proud to be the official outfitter for Team Europe. I think that they will be pretty hard to beat”

“We constantly strive to make athletes better and faster and our sport more fulfilling,” says Jackson. “We are relentless in the pursuit of performance and innovation sits at the heart of everything we do. We believe that to make innovative change you need to do, think and explore where others have failed to go or failed to see the benefit.
“The PTO are doing just that by creating world class sporting events like The Collins Cup which put innovation and world class storytelling at the core of their television product. We are proud to be the official outfitter for Team Europe. I think that they will be pretty hard to beat.”
The PTO’s CEO, Sam Renouf, added: “We are thrilled to have HUUB on board as official outfitter for Team Europe in The Collins Cup. HUUB shares our innovative production values and we look forward to leveraging the excitement, rivalry and drama of Team battles in The Collins Cup while showcasing the personalities of our amazing PTO athletes to a global audience.”
